The community group has an opening in its office for one or two rooms, with a shared common area (kitchen, workstations and meeting space) located at 331 Cooper Street, starting November 1st, 2020.

NCRA/ANRE announces Virtual Conference: 39-Online

The NCRA/ANREC has announced that in October 26th through to November 6th. The virtual conference will have 2 sessions a day over 2-3 weeks. We will also hold our AGM and our Community Radio Awards in Broadcast and Online Gala at the same time.

Community Radio Associations Recognise Government Funding

August 31st, 2020, Ottawa (Ontario) – The Minister of Canadian Heritage announced in May details of the $500 million COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund for Cultural, Heritage and Sport Organizations directly supporting community broadcasting. Community Radio Commits Nearly $500,000 for Small Business Needs

July 13th, 2020 – Today, the National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA/ANREC) and 30+ radio stations have committed over $480,000 to support local businesses in the economic recovery. From coast to coast, in small towns to major cities including Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal stations have stepped in to offer grants of free advertising and promotion, or steep discounts to help local businesses ReStart and recover.

LJI Phase 2

The Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRFC) has just opened applications for the second phase of the Local Journalism Initiative (LJI). This program, which is funded by the government of Canada, will fund the hiring of a journalist to create local news content for stations located in underserved communities.

NCRA/ANREC Releases Statement on COVID-19

Several provinces have declared radio as an essential service. In many communities, their local radio station is a reliable and constant connection to their community and local updates for COVID-19. Community Radio has shown incredible resilience and perseverance in the past weeks. We want to thank stations, their volunteers and communities for making this possible.

NCRA/ANREC Response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

The NCRA/ANREC has issued guidance to stations related to COVID-19. Starting March 11th we have provided in-station posters around and provided an English and French langauge PSA promoting proper hand washing and other information.
In addition, the NCRA/ANREC provided our members with information about how to minimize risk at their station such as new sign-in features and much more.
