Ana Rose Carrico became the Station Manager of CiTR & Discorder Magazine in Vancouver in April 2018, coming from a grassroots arts administration background. She has spent the last 15 years facilitating the development of grassroots artists of all disciplines and co-founded The Red Gate Arts Society, which provides affordable rehearsal and venue at its two locations. She is also currently on the Board of Directors of Good Night Out Vancouver, an organization that seeks to end harassment in the nightlife industry.
Cassidy is a Decho Dene-Metis Indigenous Media Producer at CFUV 101.9FM and is relatively new c/c radio. His varied experience comes from show running and sitting as Vice President of the Victoria Poetry Project, over seeing the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word ('14), and 10 years of hospitality industry experience.
I became involved in c-c radio at CHRW when I was a Media Studies and Music student back in 2016, and took on many roles in the various departments at the station. I especially took an interest in the programming department where I learned about running a c-c station, working closely with staff. I also worked with lots of students producing podcasts, building a community of hosts for a music variety program and working on creative projects. In 2019 I became the program director at CJAM and truly love the work I do here.
Glen started volunteering in C/C Radio as a teenager at CIVL 101.7FM in Abbotsford, BC. During his time there, Glen was at a various points a programmer, committee-member, Secretary and (very briefly) President of the Board of Directors. Shortly after being elected to chair CIVL’s Board, Glen headed off to Saint John, NB, where he would work as CFMH 107.3’s Volunteer Coordinator and then Station Manager.
Malik is a current law student at Ryerson’s Lincoln Alexander Faculty of Law pursuing a career in Entertainment and Media Law. He has been involved for the last five years in various roles at CJAM 99.1 FM in Windsor and hosts his show ‘VIVID Sound’ bi-weekly. He has a background in audio engineering and has worked closely with various nonprofit organizations over the last several years. Malik is passionate about people, community/campus radio, and people listening to community/campus radio. He is also the 2018 winner at CJAM FM for ‘Best On-Air Personality’.
Mark has been involved in C/C radio at CHSR-FM in Fredericton, NB since the late 90s, getting involved in just about every aspect from news reading to recruitment to on-air work, from audio drama to organizing to fundraising, from remote events to open houses to serving on the Executive Committee and the Board. He went from volunteer to staff in 2010, holding the position of Program Director since then. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from UNB, and has worked in software development and research. He likes coffee very, very much.
Meredith Lister has volunteered at UBC Okanagan's Heatwave Radio since 2017, has served as Administration Coordinator and Programming Director, and is currently Station Manager. She implemented and maintains Heatwave's online broadcasting system, and is passionate about the unique needs of other online-only stations.
Randy Reid is an experienced broadcaster and civic media expert. As a veteran producer of prime-time C/C station programming on Toronto airwaves for over 15 years, he has delivered some of the most popular morning shows and captivating interviews with international and Canadian music icons. Holding several national awards for broadcast/DJ presentation he now resides as the General Manager (GM) for VIBE 105.5FM (CHRY-FM) and CEO of the charitable social enterprise VX3 Exchange (CCCMAD Inc.) – a developer of connective media and creative art solutions.
Tiina Flank is a musician and social/environmental activist, with a passion for campus community radio. In 2015, she began working in the c/c sector as Volunteer Coordinator for CILU in Thunder Bay ON, later becoming Station Manager (2016-2019). Highlights from her broadcasting career with CILU include being voted Thunder Bay's favourite radio host of 2017 and 2018 (Tbshows.com) and her nomination for Cultural Professional of the Year (Thunder Bay's 2018 Art and Heritage Awards). She is currently volunteering remotely for CJNU-FM.
Tyra Sanderson has been extensively involved with CJSW for 5 years as a volunteer, programmer, executive member, and now, Program Director. She graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology with a diploma in Radio, Television, and Broadcast News and has worked in both commercial and c/c radio consistently since. She has a background studying music and has worked with many community arts organizations. She is excited to use her experience to work with the NCRA/ANREC Board and bring people together through C/C radio!
