CKCU 93.1 FM is seeking to hire a Volunteer Coordinator. The
successful candidate will be offered a one-year contract opportunity
as part of CKCU’s team.
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment,
orientation, training, and support of all volunteers at CKCU. The
Volunteer Coordinator will also encourage and coordinate volunteer
presence at station events, meetings and fundraisers. The Volunteer
Coordinator will be expected to :
Coordinate and conduct new volunteer orientation sessions
Provide initial training to new volunteers in the closed circuit
studio, music library department & other administrative duties
Recruit new volunteers for all areas of station activity through new
volunteer sessions, volunteer fairs & online recruitment resources
Maintain regular contact with CKCU volunteers about station
activities, events, and other matters via email lists, social media,
and the CKCU website
Maintain up to date records volunteer information, including contact
details, volunteer experience, and other skills.
Assist in the planning and execution of volunteer appreciation events
Encourage and ensure volunteer presence at CKCU initiatives (on-campus
and community events, mandatory meetings, funding drive events/phone
room shifts etc.)
Assist in facilitating of training workshops in conjunction with other
staff/management positions
Engage the student population to provide information on volunteer
opportunities and to recruit new volunteers
Ensure the active participation of volunteers on-air and in other CKCU
activities in the community
Actively engage volunteers both in the station and outside the station
Interpersonal skills, communications skills, and experience working
with volunteers are essential to this position. Experience in
community radio and in providing training will be considered an asset.
