System Administrator for CKUT 90.3FM
Hours: 15 - 20 hours per week
Pay: $20 - 25$/hour (hours & wage to be determined based on availability & experience)
4 weeks of paid vacation per year, paid sick days, plus a paid Christmas break.
**Summary **
CKUT 90.3FM is a non-profit, campus-community radio station that provides alternative music, news and spoken word programming to the city of Montreal and surrounding areas, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. CKUT is not only on the FM dial, but also streams online and stores audio archives of its programming for three months. The station operates on a collectively managed, non-hierarchical decision-making structure.

Job Description
Install, maintain and upgrade server hardware and software;
Facilitate the ongoing development of audio archival and streaming systems;
Plan improvements and reduce the number of internally managed services;
Troubleshooting of emergency situations on the network;
Manage VOIP telephones and network;
Manage desktop computers and provide technical support to staff and volunteers;
Liaison with an external web developer to maintain CKUT’s website;
Maintain documentation regarding configurations, operations and troubleshooting procedures;
Participate in collective decision making;
Required Skills and Knowledge
Expertise in Linux operating systems;
Network equipment and services, such as DHCP, DNS, NFS, WIFI;
Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously;
Ability to work constructively in a non-hierarchical collective;
Assets
Knowledge of Asterisk PBX;
Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.);
Knowledge and experience with not-for-profits and collectively managed organizations;
Bilingualism (French & English, oral and written)
PART TIME: 15- 20hrs per week wage $20-$25 per hour. Hours and wage determined based on availability and experience.
4 weeks vacation and holiday break.
