Description: 

The Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for outreach to groups and organizations in the greater Kingston area on behalf of CFRC 101.9 FM, the campus-community radio station based at Queen’s University. Tasks will include coordinating CFRCs presence at local festivals, approaching community organizations for Public Service Announcements and on-air interviews, distributing CFRC’s programming schedule, recruiting new volunteer applicants and working with staff to promote CFRC’s programming and volunteer opportunities in other ways.

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate for this position will have strong communication skills, self-motivation, an ability to work as part of a team, and experience working with community radio, community outreach initiatives and/or non-profit organizations. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, full-time students during the 2008-9 academic year who are returning to school full-time in the fall, and between the ages of 15 and 30.

Salary: 

9.50 per hour

Terms: 
6 weeks at 30 hours per week between July 6 and August 22, 2009
