HIRING: REMOTE BROADCAST COORDINATOR
(QUEEN'S WORK-STUDY)
CFRC is hiring a Remote Broadcast Coordinator to facilitate live coverage of events outside the radio station. This position runs from September 22 to May 1, with a time commitment of 5 hours per week at a wage of $12 per hour.
Responsibilities include:
-Creating and facilitating an Events Broadcasting collective to organize and present live coverage of cultural/social/community events and musical events/concerts.
-Providing training, mentoring an supervision for volunteers interested in participating in live remote broadcasts and in developing related technical and creative skills.
-Monitoring email and working with other staff to act on relevant remote broadcasting opportunities.
-Working with other the Spoken Word and Special Programming Coordinator to plan technical and programming aspects of live broadcasts
-Providing technical support for live coverage from at cultural/social/community events, musical events/concerts, and varsity sports games outside the station -Promoting CFRC's live remote broadcasts through the station's website and social media platforms.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
-Familiarity with Mac-based software and networking
-Familiarity with digital audio production and streaming
-Experience with campus and community radio broadcasting and volunteer coordination.
