
CIVL is a BC Non-Profit Society and Campus/Community Radio Station in Abbotsford, BC, based at the University of the Fraser Valley, broadcasting throughout the Valley on 101.7 FM since 2010.
The Resource and Academic Development and Integration Officer will work with the CIVL Station Manager, Board of Directors, volunteers, and students/faculty/staff at UFV in order to develop as many opportunities as possible for CIVL to provide experiential learning and skill development in conjunction with academic objectives, while contributing to the overall operations and long term planning of CIVL Radio.
- Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience in working within academic institutions
- Extensive experience in Community/Campus Radio, other media groups, or volunteer non-profit work
- Demonstrated ability to plan multiple long term projects
- Demonstrated ability to work in volunteer organizations with people of a diversity of backgrounds and skills
- Ability to meet multiple deadlines in short time periods
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to network professionally and with a wide range of people and organizations
- Comfortable taking feedback from a multitude of sources in a variety of organizational levels
- Demonstrated patience and ability to mentor youth and beginners
- Ability to research a wide variety of topics from diverse sources
- Visual and print media skills are an asset
- Experience in corporate media are an asset
- Experience in volunteer recruitment, retention, and administration is an asset
$25,500 contract over 12 months starting the week of May 5th
