Description: 

The Program Manager oversees the program schedule at CFRC, training new programmers, supporting programming technical requirements, and ensuring that programming meets both broadcasting standards and regulations and the mission and mandate of CFRC Radio. The successful candidate has training in broadcasting and is able to work with volunteers with a variety of backgrounds and experience, from students to community members. The Program Manager is also an integral partner, with the Station Manager and the board of directors of Radio Queen’s University (RQU), in the development and implementation of strategic plans.

DUTIES
Coordinate the CFRC program schedule in accordance with CFRC mission/mandate and CRTC regulations
Manage performance and compliance with regulations of CFRC's on-air programmers
Organize and lead programming committee (programmers who assist with program reviews, choosing new shows)
Support Station Manager in adherence to CRTC and SOCAN regulations, programming concerns
Ensure all program logs are filled out appropriately and regularly
Work with sales and marketing coordinator to promote programming and events
With other staff, monitor the station remotely after hours to ensure programming is airing as scheduled.

Qualifications: 

SKILLS
Awareness of campus-community radio station operations and regulations
Proficiency and experience with broadcasting, broadcasting equipment and related technology
-Experience with campus/community radio
-Experience with digital audio recording and editing
Volunteer and/or staff management skills
Organizational/time management skills
Strong communication and people skills
Demonstrated conflict-management skills
Demonstrated ability to work with and delegate to volunteers
Flexibility and willingness to take initiative

QUALIFICATIONS
-Required: College diploma or certificate in broadcasting or journalism or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Salary: 

$30,000 to $35,000 based on experience, plus benefits.

Terms: 
This is a salaried position of between $30,000-35,000 commensurate with experience, involving at least 35 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends. Vacation and health benefits provided upon completion of a 4-month probationary period. This is a one-year contract that may be renewed.
