Manage all on-air programming, working with hosts, producers, writers and
programming coordinators. Work with full-time department coordinators to organize the
efforts of all volunteers and employees to assist with the day-to-day operation of the station.
Train and coach volunteers to create imaginative content in-line with Radio Westerns
Strategic Planning, Mission and Vision statements. Above all, inspire volunteers and
employees to create great radio.
Responsibilities:
Train volunteers, through one-on-one coaching, workshops or group training sessions
Recruit, train, schedule, monitor and coach all on-air music programmers
Maintain high standards of alternative broadcasting while providing a positive
experience for volunteers
Advertise, implement and coordinate special projects and promotions including live
broadcasts, promotions and giveaways
Work with the Marketing Director, the News, Sports & Spoken Work Director and the
Production Director to organize the efforts of volunteers and employees and to assist
with day-to-day operations.
Ensure the integration of scheduled sports remote broadcasts and promotions
Work within guidelines set out by the Station Manager and the CHRW Board of
Directors to meet the conditions of the Broadcast license of CHRW as laid out by the
Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission
Act as a fill-in host as required
Act as a public relations and be a resource for general question
Minimum 2 years experience in Campus/Community Radio.
Supervising and coordinating volunteers and employees while providing a positive
experience
Experience with aspects of broadcast, studio and recording equipment and software
such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, RCS Zetta and GSelector
High School Diploma required; post-secondary education would be an asset
Valid drivers licence
Hours: 37.5 with overtime as required; 2 year contract; includes occasional evenings and
weekends
