
Local 107.3 FM (parent company: Campus Radio Saint John Inc.) is hiring a regular part-time Program Director. Potential for increased hours and compensation for this position is subject to successful grant applications (this position was 27.5 and 32.5 hours/week in 2013 and 2014, respectively). This position offers a high-level of flexibility but also requires an individual that can provide necessary evening and weekend support.
Local 107.3 FM is a non-profit volunteer-driven campus-based community radio station located on the UNB Saint John campus. An integral part of the Saint John community for over two decades, Local-FM is open to all community members as a cultivator of volunteerism, social engagement, independent music, citizen journalism, and more.
Job Description:
- ensure Local-FM remains broadcasting at all times;
- lead facilitator within the organization in providing programmers with the tools they need to produce high quality community programming;
o provide regular broadcasting and production skills workshops
o oversee special programming needs and supports (holidays, DJ accommodations, etc.)
o coordinate Programming Committee meetings and activities (new show applications, program reviews, etc.)
- coordinate, maintain, publish (online/print), and update Local 107.3 FM programming schedule;
- provide basic technical support (audio/PC/hardware) and ensure the maintenance of all equipment and general station aesthetics;
- ensuring compliance with CRTC Broadcasting License and implementation of Local-FM’s on-air programming policies;
- assist Station Manager and other staff with short and long term projects;
- coordinate/participate in special/fundraising events;

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills exhibited with a high level of professionalism;
- Previous community radio, management, and/or volunteer coordination experience;
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills;
- Project planning and execution;
- Computer and basic radio/audio production skills;
- Friendly and patient disposition balanced with an ability to enforce policy.
