Principal Duties:

Accountable to the Station Manager, the Program Director works as part of a team and is expected to be involved and take responsibility in many areas of the station's operations.
Specific areas of responsibility include:

1. Managing and coordinating CFUV programming
2. Working with Programming Committee in areas of program scheduling, assessment and development
3. Aiding in volunteer activities, training and integrating new volunteers into the station
4. Coordinating special projects assigned by the Station Manager
5. Assisting the other staff with general station tasks (equipment maintenance, training, etc.)
6. Occasional on-air duties
7. Other duties as required

Qualifications: 

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Experience in working with campus/ community radio
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills
3. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
4. Knowledge of CRTC policy and regulations
5. General familiarity with technical needs of radio stations
6. Good computer skills
7. Experience working with and directing volunteers
8. Familiarity with the University of Victoria and the general Victoria community
9. Willing to work flexible hours and weekends

Term of Employment: The Program Director is employed for a three month trial period and upon a successful performance review may have their work term extended until June 30, 2010. Subsequent renewals are on an annual basis following successful performance reviews. A criminal record check is required within the first month of employment, at the employee’s expense, but upon a successful check the employee will be compensated for the record check fee.

Salary: 

$25,000 to $27,000 per annum to start, depending on experience, with possible annual increases upon a successful performance review. 4 weeks vacation plus extended health and dental benefits.
