- Assist in the coordination and production of a one-hour weekly show (Fridays 12:00 noon to 1:00PM. broadcasting at 90.1 FM)
· Produce Station ID’s, Community Event Announcements and Public Service Announcements (PSA's)
· Produce Weekly News Briefs and audio/video of news workshops and station technology tutorials
· Assist in the production of original News Stories
· Assist in the production of Documentaries for radio
· Produce News Segments on a variety of topics
· Provide News Coverage of Local Events
· Fill in as needed in all aspects of news Content Editing and Production
· Assist News Director in executing news training curriculum and coordination of workshops; coordinate scheduling with a team consisting of reporters, segment producers, producers, hosts, editors and workshop facilitators
· Attend/assist/take notes at all News and News Project planning and production meetings
· Attend monthly PRCRS Board of Directors meetings
- Provide weekly Training Critique Report
· Learn and contribute to project reporting
· Learn about community radio, legal frameworks, applicable legislation and regulations/obligations
· Assist in general administrative duties of news show and station
- Be available from May 16, 2016- September 18, 2016 (17 weeks) at 20 hours per week
- Be passionate about working in community radio and eager to learn more at CJMP
- Be able to take direction and participate fully in the life of the radio station both in the studio and outside it
- Work well with others, and communicate in a professional manner
- Have good language skills (written and spoken) and computer (Word, email, web browsing and researching, blogging, etc.) skills
- Any sound production or audio/video editing skills will be assets
- Time management skills
- Be able to collect, condense and relay written and spoken information in a professional and timely manner
- Some comfort with public speaking is an asset, as are knowledge of other languages and cultures
$17.00 per hour
20 hours/week. 17 Weeks (May 16 to Sept 18 2016)
