
Vancouver Co-operative Radio, CFRO, 102.7 FM is a non-profit, listener-supported, multi-lingual community station that has provided Vancouver with alternative public affairs, music and arts programming since 1975.
Co-op Radio provides a space for under-represented voices and perspectives. In August 2012, Co-op Radio will be moving to a new frequency: 100.5 FM. The Outreach and Campaigns Co-ordinator is responsible for planning outreach events, in-person promotion, and other outreach work to promote the station’s move to this new frequency. This is a temporary part-time position reporting to the Director of Member Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute a summer campaign to promote Co-op Radio’s move to a new frequency, based on a marketing strategy developed in conjunction with the Director of Member Services and a Branding Specialist. This will include, but is not limited to:
-Event planning
-Volunteer Co-ordination
-Ensuring our presence at community events
-Co-ordinating production of promotional materials, including a newsletter, banners, and t-shirts
-Increasing our presence using online social media and our website
-Supporting programmers in outreach efforts
-Recording and producing audio (and possibly video) materials, including pre-recorded announcements, interviews, and show promos
-Friendly, personable, and outgoing
-Ability to work independently on a project and see it to completion
-Community-based organizational development experience: planning, co-ordinating, working with volunteers, prioritizing and delegating tasks
-Familiarity and experience with Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, etc)
-Excellent computer skills: precise data entry, website maintenance (Drupal, Wordpress), Photoshop
-Experience with, and interest in, community broadcast media, preferably radio
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: clear written and verbal communication, conflict resolution, ability to openly give and accept feedback, ability to dialogue with diverse parties and work effectively as a team member
-Non-profit outreach experience and/or ground-level marketing experience
-Excellent time-management skills
-Sound recording and editing experience required; Video recording and editing experience is an asset
HOURS: 15 hours/week, scheduling of hours is flexible
WAGE: $17/hr plus 12% in lieu of vacation and benefits, for a total of $19.04/hour
