National Coordinator - Journalism (14 Month Contract)

The Community Radio Alliance of Canada (ARCC), the Association of Community Radio Broadcasters of Quebec (ARCQ) and National Campus and Community Radio Association/
l’Association nationale des radios étudiantes et communautaires (NCRA/ANREC) are seeking national information coordinators.

National Information Coordinators will be responsible for leading and managing the development and implementation of the local journalism initiative for English and Francophone radio stations as part of the Canadian Community Radio Fund Grants Program. The director must have a comprehensive knowledge base in journalism and management, reflecting an understanding of historical, current and future trends in the field, the needs of the public, as well as the management techniques and skills needed to apply that knowledge.

Qualifications: 

Tasks: (Under the supervision of the associations)
• Support journalists in radio with local news production
• Provide support with stories and reports
• Content management and supervision
• Supervise news publications on a content platform
• Quality control (relevance, consistency objectives, writing)
• Content editing (mark-up, classification, etc.)

Profile / expertise:
• Relevant experience in local / regional journalism
• Managerial and editorial experience in journalistic environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in team management an asset
• Bilingualism an asset
• Good general knowledge of Canada: news environment, geography
• Writing and editing skills
• Knowledge of WordPress an asset
• Knowledge of radio broadcasting, audio production and editing an asset

Salary: 

Working conditions:
Duration: 14 months contract with possibility of extension
25-35 hours per week (to be negotiated)
Remote work
