About the Position
Working closely with the Music Department Coordinator, the Music Librarian and Music Volunteer Coordinator will work to promote local music and emerging artists both on-air and over the CKUT music blog, as well as assist with the development of CKUT’s digital music library. Finally, the position involves developing a plan to improve the integration and training of new Music Department volunteers.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Develop a music volunteer training manual
Train and integrate new volunteers in to the music department
Promote local music and emerging Montreal artists through development of a local music outreach program
Create a compilation album of local Montreal artists, particularly those who have previous experience collaborating with CKUT
Assist in the organization of music department fundraisers and compilation launch
Oversee the music department’s blog and improve online social media presence
Assist with the operation and maintenance of CKUT's music library
Assist the Music Coordinator in tracking new releases
Assist with a myriad of departmental administrative tasks (eg. mail logging and distribution, music labeling and repackaging, filing, emails and calls)
Cover duties of the Music Coordinator during absences and/or vacations.
Work closely with Digitalization Coordinator to ensure new submissions are accurately catalogued
Requirements:
Actively involved and oriented in local music scene Event coordination Coordinating and training volunteers Building an online social presence (Wordpress, Youtube, social media, etc.) Experience with campus-community radio Ability to multi-task efficiently and work independently in a busy environment
Other desired qualifications include:
Broad, well-developed knowledge of innovative music styles and the Canadian music industry Self-motivated and willing to initiate projects Participation in the local independent music community Detail oriented Strong organizational skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills Basic budgeting skills Graphic design Bilingual

This is a part-time (25hours/week), contract position. Wage $14.65/hour
