
CIVL's music library includes both physical and digital copies of submissions received from artists across the country, in various states of cataloging and documentation.
The CIVL Music Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the following work:
Working with UFV LIBS department practicum students in order to re-organize the digital and physical contents of CIVL's music archives
Review of all incoming music submitted to the station, and inclusion into the CIVL physical and digital music archives
Communication through the music@civl.ca e-mail address, and UFV local extension, in order to assist promoters and servicing agents with tracking updates
Solicit, coordinate and supervise volunteer engagement in the music department overall
Oversee the implementation of new music rotation and catalog redesign
An understanding and appreciation of all aspects of campus / community radio and a knowledge of all varieties of non-commercial music
Involvement/active interest in the local/regional music community
A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and iTunes is essential
Experience working with volunteers
Described as an open minded individual, creative thinker and excellent communicator
Progressive attitude, good stress management, multi-tasking and organization skills are a must
