The Fundraising and Sponsorship Coordinator will coordinate and supervise all activities related to income generation for CKCU, including individual sponsorships for programs, securing sponsorship campaigns and the annual Funding Drive

a. Core duties

i. Proactively develop and maintain sponsorships
ii Oversee scheduling and execution of paid promotional messages (‘carts’)
iii. Manage annual on-air fundraising campaign (Funding Drive). Coordinate other promotional and fundraising events and projects
iv. Work with Station Manager and Board to develop and implement policies related to fundraising, sponsorship, and promotion.
v. Maintain complete and accurate records of donors and sponsors; Plan and execute regular donor communications; Process and record tax receipts.
vi Work with existing show hosts to develop new sponsorship and help maintain relationships with sponsors
vii Ensure that sponsorships meet station-set targets

Qualifications: 

The successful candidate will have: experience with sales and/or fundraising; a proactive approach to developing new sponsorships and maintaining relationships with sponsors; a knowledge of promotion and fundraising principles and practices, especially as they relate to working in a non profit organization; excellent communications and human resource skills; experience with Access and Excel; proven experience multitasking; a capacity to set, meet and review performance targets; excellent time management skills. Must be able to work occasional evening and weekend hours to oversee promotional events.

Previous experience in a similar position, or experience in the non- profit sector, community radio, fundraising, and sales are considered assets. A Criminal Record Check will be requested of candidates under consideration prior to a formal offer of employment.

Salary: 

This is a permanent unionized position with CUPE 1281. It is based on a 32 hour work week
with a base salary and significant commission for sales above the minimum standard.
