CHRY Community Radio is gearing up for its 25th year as a F.M. station and its annual Funding Drive events.
This requires a dynamic, dedicated, efficient and energetic individual who can take on the position of Fundraising and Events Coordinator to ensure that this year’s activities are a success! The successful candidate will understand the importance of making the 25th Anniversary meaningful.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Operations Coordinator, staff team and volunteers to develop and execute the annual fundraising campaign
• Solicit donations from companies to be used as gifts for donors

• Publicize the campaign throughout the station and surrounding communities

• Coordinate training and integration of volunteers into all phases of the campaign

• Determine and ensure the overall goal for the drive and individual goals for each show in consultation with the Program coordinator and Operations coordinator.

• Ensure that the pledge database is operational and all information is entered accurately

• Plan and oversee all steps necessary to maximize collection of pledges

• All other activities necessary to ensure the drive and anniversary events run smoothly

• Ensure accurate closure of the fundraising process (including issuing of tax receipts).

• Provide support for activities and events related to the 25th Anniversary

Qualifications: 

Qualifications:

1. Familiarity with campus/community radio
2. A knowledge of CHRY’s listening community
3. The ability to plan and coordinate a 10 day on-air Funding Drive/Telethon
4. Proficiency with database software, especially Filemaker Pro 4 and Excel
5. Ability to organize, coordinate and promote fundraising events
6. Ability to work in a collective atmosphere
7. Fundraising and Event Coordination an asset

8. College or University Diploma or Degree

Salary: 

This position is for 30 hours per week (negotiable to less) with remuneration of $15 per hour for the duration of an approximate 4 month contract starting September.
