
This position manages all financial transactions for the station.
This is one of 4 positions in a staff collective responsible to, and under limited direction of, the Board of Directors of Vancouver Co-operative Radio. Staff members meet regularly to share information and co-ordinate work so as to ensure the smooth operation of the station.
Financial Administration Duties:
- Prepare monthly reports to the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors
- Manage and keep accurate financial records
- Make bank deposits, issue cheques
- Prepare yearly budget
- Maintain files with relevant government agencies
- Manage contractual negotiations
- Apply for and administer regular grants
- Manage budgets and do financial administration for events and sponsorships
- Do administrative support for special projects
- Develop fiscal policies and procedures

Qualifications
· Experience in office/financial administration and grant writing, preferably with a non-profit organization
· Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping
· Proficient in the use of Windows applications and databases
· Knowledge of regulations concerning charities
· Proven organizational, administrative and coordination skills
· Track record of meeting assigned goals with minimum supervision
· Ability to work effectively as a team member
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Bookkeeping experience is an asset but is not required
· Familiarity with community broadcast media

This is a part-time (20 hours/weeks) position with the potential for increased hours. The position is unionized through Canadian Auto Workers. The selected candidate will be paid $20.06 per hour with generous medical and vacation benefits.
