Description: 

Radio Ryerson is seeking a Program Director for a new student media centre.
This part-time position is 27 hours per week on an alternating schedule that requires
occasional evening and weekend duties.
Radio Ryerson is a nonprofit ,volunteer-driven campus-based media initiative. We provide
music and information programming not offered by mainstream commercial media in the area.
The Program Director is responsible for all aspects of programming. Working with volunteers,
the Manager, Volunteer Coordinator and the Program Review Committee, the successful
applicant will bring innovative transmedia content to the Ryerson campus and the city of
Toronto.
Duties include:
• Training New Volunteers
• Co-drafting and enforcing policy and training materials.
• Reviewing and soliciting new show proposals
• Regular site updates
• Piloting eight hours of live audio content daily, as well as programming on-demand
video
• Reviewing and evaluating all programs regularly with the assistance of management,
and the Program Review Committee.
Further, the successful applicant will:
*Chair the Program Review Committee
*Coordinate a live broadcast team for special events
* Ensure that all programming content is of a high quality
*Assign production duties
*Coordinate use of production studios and equipment
* Coordinate outreach and public support campaigns

Qualifications: 

Qualifications:
*Experience working in a public or community media environment;
• Demonstrated experience relating to independent music promotion and community news
production
• Innovative approach to new media, broad-based transmedia skills, and an innovative vision
for multi-platform programming
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Conflict resolution skills
• Audio production background an asset
• Management experience

Salary: 

TERMS: 27 hours per week/$18 p/hour. This 12-month contract is to commence in January,
2013.
