ABOUT THE POSITION:
The CKUT Community Outreach Coordinator will work directly with CKUT’s Arts and Culture Coordinator and existing programmers within Arts and Culture department to help revise the mandate, format and content of The Morning Afters. This revision will ensure programming continuity and quality across the programming grid.
The Morning After show is an arts, culture, news and music magazine show airing 7h-9h every weekday morning. The Thursday Morning After is the francophone edition. It is produced by a collective of volunteers who organize together to create exciting, engaging, alternative programming by mixing music and spoken word creatively to inspire and inform waking listeners.
To fulfill this revision, the Outreach Coordinator will contact and bring in community centres and artist run spaces to integrate more regular segments into the Morning Afters. They will be responsible for training new volunteers from these community organizations on sound recording and editing. They will also podcast and promote the segments on social media, including the Arts and Culture blog, Twitter, and Facebook.
Part of the revision will also include two one-week event series. The Outreach Coordinator will coordinate two remote broadcast series within Montreal community spaces in August 2016 and during CKUTs Annual Funding in Fall 2016 to showcase the newly established Morning After format.
