Description: 

The Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for outreach to various groups and organizations in the greater Kingston area on behalf of CFRC 101.9fm, the campus-community radio station based at Queen’s University. Tasks will include but not be limited to:
1.Promoting CFRC's local live sports programming to potential sponsors and listeners in the community
2.Coordinating CFRCs involvement with and presence at summer festivals such as the Women's Art Festival and the Wolfe Island Music Festival
3.Recruiting content from local non-profit organizations and community groups to be used in Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and on-air interviews about their events and services
4.Increasing CFRC's visibility in the community by circulating CFRC's broadcast schedule and other promotional materials to community organizations and local businesses.
5.Promoting volunteer opportunities at CFRC and recruiting new volunteer applicants.

Other duties will include:
1.Attending weekly staff meetings.
2.Answering calls and emails, assisting volunteers with room bookings, equipment rentals and equipment use.

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
1.strong oral and written communication skills
2.self-motivation and an ability to work as part of a team
3.experience working with community radio, community outreach initiatives and/or non-profit organizations

Applicants must be:
1.Legally entitled to work in Canada
2.Full-time students during the 2009-10 academic year and returning to school full-time in the fall
3.Between the ages of 15 and 30
