The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the orientation, training, support and recruitment of all volunteers at CKCU. The Volunteer Coordinator will also coordinate volunteer presence at station events, meetings and fundraisers.
- Coordinate and conduct new volunteer orientation sessions
- Provide initial training to new volunteers in the closed circuit studio, music library department & other administrative duties
- Recruit new volunteers for all areas of the station through new volunteer sessions, volunteer fairs & online recruitment resources
- Maintain regular contact with CKCU volunteers about station activities, events, and other matters via listservs, social media, and the CKCU website
- Maintain up to date records of names, e-mails and phone numbers of new volunteers
- Assist in the planning and execution of volunteer appreciation events
- Encourage and ensure volunteer presence at CKCU initiatives (on-campus and community events, mandatory meetings, funding drive events/phone room shifts etc.)
- Assist with the facilitation of training workshops in conjunction with other staff/management positions
- encourage and engage the student population to recruit new volunteers
- ensure volunteers active participation on-air and in other CKCU activities
- must actively engage volunteers both in the station and outside the station
- we are looking for someone who can work some evenings and weekends and who can start in mid to late July 2011.
