CHSR FM, the Community-Based Campus Radio station in Fredericton is seeking a highly motivated person for the position of Program Director.

CHSR is a 50 year old non-profit institution located in Fredericton, NB on the UNB/STU campus. We are dedicated to high-quality, volunteer-produced programming of interest to the students and communities of the Fredericton area. Part of our mandate is to provide access to the airwaves for a wide variety of people.

The Program Director is an integrating role between on-air volunteer programmers, regulations and guidelines, local and remote technologies, budgetary concerns and the community.

The Program Director is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the daily operations and documentation of the on-air and replay broadcasts, overseeing a broadcast schedule in accordance with CRTC and station policy, for co-ordinating with volunteers and volunteer committees and for providing training for interested individuals.

Qualifications: 

Strong computer and technical skills are definite assets. Strong organizational skills are needed to handle deadlines in numerous day-to-day operations and special projects. Supervisory skills are a definite asset. The Program Director is expected to exercise self-direction as part of a managerial team.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of two years of broad-based experience in campus-community radio or the equivalent, and will have demonstrated leadership and teaching abilities. As well, the candidate must have good communication skills and an ability to work with volunteers from various backgrounds. Some post-secondary experience is preferred.
