
Responsibilities:
Open mail and log new incoming releases
Review new releases
Help select releases for rotation
Search out new, interesting, upcoming, and fresh artists to add into rotation
Provide curated recommendations to broadcasters for programming
Help with booking live/pre-recorded in-studio sessions @ CJLO with touring and local musicians
Providing feedback on new releases and spin/rotation information to label and promotion company representatives
If necessary - interview artists, review concerts, provide on-air content
Help out when possible with general CJLO day-to-day and event activities
Vast knowledge of all musical genres (rock, world, hip hop, metal, electronic) with a focus on rock/indie rock/punk
Love of community radio
Knowledge of CJLO's programming
Interest and drive to search out new music and new bands
Knowledge of production/engineering a plus
Has listened to Drive Like Jehu's "Yank Crime" at least once and can name at least five Wu-Tang Clan members and the titles of five Wu or Wu affiliated album titles
A nice person who likes geeking out over music
This is a volunteer position with a small stipend available for compensation, as well as possible conference passes and travel accomodations per budget availabilities.
