
Reporting to the Station Manager, the Aboriginal Spoken Word Producer works as part of a team and is expected to be involved and take responsibility in many areas of the station's operations.
Spoken Word Producer will be expected to:
1. Produce a bi-weekly spoken word program focusing on Aboriginal topics in Northern BC, topics may include but are not limited to: The Highway of Tears, Residential School Reconciliation, Northern Gateway Pipeline, Traditional Culture and Music, Idle No More, Homelessness, and Aboriginal incarceration
2. Coordinate and schedule interviews and features with the Program Director
3. Develop a procedural handbook for future station use
(not required but would be considered an asset):
1. Knowledge of and interest in Aboriginal social issues, cultural and musical expression
2. Excellent computer skills, website management and building skills would be an asset
3. Knowledge of CFUR's programming and mandate
4. Experience with community organizations and/or not-for-profit organizations
20 hours per week, $12 per hour
