Station Managers Summit - Nov 24-25th, Toronto


Hello Everyone!

VIBE105 is the proud host of the 2018 National Campus and Community Radio Associations Station Managers Summit (#SMS2018) March 24-25th, 2018 in Toronto. The summit will take place on on the York University Campus in the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation known as York Region.

 

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Recommended travel days are Friday March 23rd (we will have a small evening social event on Friday) and Sunday, March 25th in the evening after 5pm (Though the Monday is also good. Conference sessions begins 10am on Saturday, March 24th, location Executive Learning Centre).

We suggest those flying, fly into Pearson Airport (YYZ), or Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ).
Transit via Cab to the designated hotel or conference area is approximately $20-$30. You can also take a TTC bus and/or Subway.

ACCOMMODATIONS

We have three options for accommodations:
1) Executive Learning Centre (at a rate of $149 pr/day) *Information to come shortly on how to reserve
2) Group Air BnB (Estimated $50-75/night – depending on how many registrations we receive)*Note that an Air BnB will be reserved on December 15th, any additional late registrations can coordinate with barry@ncra.ca but no space is guaranteed
3) Seek your own accommodations

Saturday – 10am-Noon – Welcoming, Keynote, and Workshop (Equity and Diversity at the station level)
Saturday – Noon-1:15 – Lunch
Saturday – 1:15-4:30 – 2 Breakout Sessions with Topics selected by participants
Saturday – 6pm – Dinner (Optional)

Sunday – 9:30-1am – Brown Bag Breakfast (Bring your food, come early and network)
Sunday – 10am-11am – VIBE105 Transition – From CHRY to VIBE105 with Randy Ried
Sunday – 11am-noon – The Hot Seat (Panel with Q&A)
Sunday – Noon-1:15 – Lunch
Sunday – 1:15-4:30 – 2 Breakout Sessions with Topics selected by participants
Sunday – 4:30-5 – Closing

Bonus – VIBE105 Station Tour – TBA

 

Bonus – Mental Health First Aid

The NCRA/ANREC recommends that attendees think about participating at the MHFA Canada two-day training course on Mental Health.  There is a course available in Mississauga (Not overly far from the symposium) on March 22 & 23rd.  For more information and to register – Visit here. EXPECTED COST

$150 includes Morning and Afternoon Snacks, Lunch for Saturday and Sunday. (Subject to small change when registration begins)
