Hello everyone
The NCRA/ANREC is thrilled to be working with
La Fondation canadienne pour le dialogue des cultures for the 20th anniversary of Rendez-vous de la Francophonie, the annual celebration of Canada's membership in the Francophonie and promotes the French language and its numerous cultural expressions.
The NCRA/ANREC is coordinating a marathon day of programming on March 20th. We will have up to 20 stations participating, airing up to 10 hours, 20 28-minute documentaries between 8am-10pm local time (you decide when to air them).
Once again, participating stations will be asked to air other documentaries, as well as create their own on March 20th, along with at least 5 PSA's daily (between February 1st and the 21st of March). In return, each station will receive $1000 to run the program and an additional $500 to pay for an independent producer to create a show. (Note a producer may donate their pay to the station, we ask that staff are not producing the show to keep with the spirit of volunteerism).
There are
three themes which stations can produce around this year, please submit your plan/ideas below in the
application process. If you need assistance to connect to someone in your local area, we have contacts for every province for the three themes.
- Education (Kindergarten to Post-Secondary).
e.g. Elementry students learning about Francophone culture, High-School students playing learning and playing traditional French Music.
- Economic Partnerships (Focusing on Youth Entrepreneurship)
e.g. profiling the work a youth is doing in the community connected to Francophone or bilingual cooperation.
- Cultural Hubs (Creative Spaces for Bilingual and OLMC community space)
e.g. Speaking to a community group who helps promote bilingual partnerships and/or festivals.
We are now accepting stations to sign-up for this special day. Please fill out the form here with your interest. The due date for sign-up is end-of-day, Sunday, January 28th.
