This fall, we’d like to let you in on one of Canada’s best‐kept community radio secrets!

CFRC is one of the longest‐running radio stations in the world: it began broadcasting on Queen’s University campus in 1922 and moved into its current location in 1959. As we celebrate 50 years in our present studios, volunteers and staff at CFRC would like to welcome community radio broadcasters from across the region to join us in Kingston for a weekend of discussion, skill‐sharing, planning and live entertainment.

From October 16-18, we will host a regional community radio conference open to NCRA members, other community stations and interested members of the community.

In addition to hands-on workshops and panel discussions there will be a tour of the Communications and Electronics museum, radio yoga, local music and a radio drama performance.

Sessions will include workshops on writing for the ear, multitrack recorging, using Serato to scratch and mix and discussions on third-language and cultural programming, grant-writing and campus and community stations working together. A more detailed schedule will be posted soon.
