Now hiring! Outreach Coordinator and Membership/Materials Coordinator

The NCRA is hiring two positions that use community radio as a means to help reconcile all Canadians with the lasting legacy of Indian Residential Schools. This project is called Resonating Reconciliation.

The work was funded by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and the Department of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada

The Outreach Coordinator may be based either in Ottawa or Vancouver and will produce five documentaries on the TRC and its processes, help plan workshops at our national conference about how to cover these issues, help organize four Red Jam Slams across the country and support 40 campus and community radio stations as they produce a 30-minute radio documentary on survivors' stories in their own communities and each recruit and train local Aboriginal volunteers. The position is 28 hours a week and the deadline to apply is Monday, March 11. The full job description is here.

The Membership and Materials Coordinator position will support NCRA member stations in their work, produce web-based print and audio materials to help campus and community radio stations better cover the TRC and our shared history of Indian Residential Schools, coordinate a national PSA campaign around these issues, and support other project work. The position is 35 hours a week and the deadline to apply is Monday, March 11. The full job description is here.
